Reporting to the chief executive, the General Manager will work closely with the chief executive and the senior leadership team to set priorities and ensure a sound and ambitious vision for the business across all our titles.
The role has a strong project and people focus, providing strong strategic thinking and acting as a pivotal support to the chief executive.
The General Manager will also help build consumer-driven products that achieve newsroom and business goals and will thrive in a highly collaborative, cross-functional environment.

Selection Criteria:
- Experience in the Media/Arts/Culture industry with proven delivery of operational and strategic projects at a senior level
- Proven capacity to think strategically and to drive innovation
- Proven ability to navigate complex environments and maintain meaningful stakeholder relationships
- Demonstrated leadership experience across business, including maintaining and leading positive workplace cultures
- Ability to thrive in an unstructured, fast-moving and constantly evolving high growth environment
- Strong written and communication skills, including the ability to communicate between technical and non-technical people, vertically and horizontally
- High-level organisational skills
- Strong relationship-building skills, including excellent customer intuition.
- Demonstrated ability to develop high-performing teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and driving operational excellence
- Hands-on experience with Google Analytics, including dashboards and custom reports and hands-on experience with Google Ad Manager
Preferred experience:
- An understanding of contemporary media landscapes, including traditional, digital, and emerging platforms
- Hands-on experience with campaign management tools
- Experience creating and managing effective product roadmaps
- Experience running A/B testing
- Comfortable learning new web and digital tools on your own quickly
