Schwartz Media

Schwartz Media’s daily news podcast, 7am, is looking for an editor.

This role will shape the daily scheduling of the show, planning episode structures, overseeing edits, working on news mix and innovation, and managing day-to-day operations.

This is a role for someone with strong news sense and a real interest in story structure.

Audio experience is valued but not essential. What is important is engagement with storytelling and news judgement, as well as creativity and energy.

This is a senior position, reporting to the editor-in-chief. The role is full-time, from our Carlton office.

Applications close Monday, November 4, 2019.

About 7am:

7am is a daily news podcast from the publisher of The Monthly and The Saturday Paper. It tells the news through in-depth interviews and sharp analysis.

Hosted by Peabody Award–winning journalist Elizabeth Kulas, 7am is a smart, strong, character-driven account of the big story of the day: the background, who’s involved, and why it matters. This is news with narrative, every weekday.

Applicants should send a CV and a sample of their work to [email protected].
