Schwartz Media’s daily news podcast, 7am, is hiring for a features and field producer.
In this role you will:
- Report audio stories from the field
- Assist Schwartz Media print reporters in adapting their work for audio, including field producing throughout their reporting, and structuring their work for long-form podcast episodes
- Take existing interview and other tape, and help structure and mix material into audio documentaries for podcast
- Assist with sound design, scoring and mixing feature episodes for our narrative news podcast, increasing our capacity for innovation in audio storytelling
- Mix episodes to completion on a regular basis (using ProTools), and assist with the show’s daily operations.
7am is a daily news podcast from the publisher of The Monthly and The Saturday Paper. It tells the news through in-depth interviews and sharp analysis.
Hosted by Peabody Award–winning journalist Elizabeth Kulas, 7am is a smart, strong, character-driven account of the big story of the day: the background, who’s involved, and why it matters. This is news with narrative, every weekday.
